The Rubbing Stone Ensemble performs “Interconnections”, a program with focus on several duo combinations. “Interconnections” brings together works by international composers Kajia Saariaho, Lee Hyla, Edison Denisov, and Philippe Leroux, and, keeping with the ensemble’s commitment to Canadian music, an arrangement by Ontario composer James Harley, made especially for this concert, as well as the premiere of “The Long Road”, a trio for saxophone, violin and piano by Calgary composer Christiaan Venter. This stimulating concert program will feature a stellar group of musicians: Jeremy Brown (saxophone), Donovan Seidle (violin), Morag Northey (cello), Mary Sullivan (flute), Stan Climie (bass clarinet), and Luciane Cardassi (piano).
